Audition Tip #2; Don't practice on the day.
Don’t go over your songs and/or monologues on the day of your audition. This seems counter-intuitive, but if you’ve been practicing religiously up to this point, working on your monologue right before going into the room will only psych you out.
A few things might happen:
- You start to go over it, and you go up on a line. —> Oh no! Oh shit! I don’t know it as well...

A fun story that I found about letter props. Is it better to leave the letter blank (metaphorically) or have the actors memorize the dialogue?

Wow. I don’t know. I usually just memorize it. But then I do tend towards over-preparedness.

Richard III quote from Act III sc. 1 as written by Shakespeare:
RICHARD: (aside) Short summers lightly have a forward spring.
Richard III quote as translated into modern English by No Fear Shakespeare:
RICHARD: (to himself) As the saying goes, “Short summers often have an early spring.” This smarty-pants won’t live long.
I HATE No Fear Shakespeare. I hate it.

A new planet found about 36 light-years away could be one of the most Earthlike worlds yet—if it has enough clouds, a new study says.
The unpoetically named HD85512b was discovered orbiting an orange dwarf star in the constellation Vela. Astronomers found the planet using the European Southern Observatory’s High Accuracy Radial velocity Planet Searcher, or HARPS, instrument in...

“One interesting and useful feature of the Occitan language is its virtually infinite ability to create new words through a number of interchangeable and imbeddable suffixes.”
Interesting.

Audition Tip #1; Shoes
When practicing your monologues or songs, wear the shoes you intend to wear at the audition.
You don’t want those fabulous four-inch heels, or hard-soled dress shoes to throw you off on the day.
also for the added hilarity of your roommate waking in on you reciting Shakespeare in your pajamas and high-heels.

Whose Line is it Anyway? - Newsflash
Colin is sent out into the field to report on breaking news. The only problem is that he is in front of a green screen and cannot see the images behind him.
I love how the moment they mention that “incredible shine” he knows exactly what’s behind him.
this is amazing. Colin bby <3
